Microneedling is an aesthetic procedure that repeatedly punctures the skin with a sterile medical microneedling device in order to induce the production of collagen. The thousands of tiny “wounds” in the dermis, stimulating production of new collagen and elastin.

Microneedling is effective for the skin of all colours since pigment-forming cells aren’t activated. A gentle topical anaesthetic cream is applied to minimise discomfort beforehand, and the whole procedure takes about 60 minutes. Skin will look sunburnt for around 24 hours afterward, and we recommend a calming ointment like the Alumier Recovery Balm to help.  To reduce the risk of infection, make-up should be avoided for 24 hours after the procedure

Regular treatments 4-6 weeks apart are most effective at yielding good results depending on your skin. Usually, a course of six treatments is recommended.  Microneedling benefits:-

  • can make skin tighter and thicker improving wrinkles and minimising pore size.
  • stimulates collagen ( neocollagenesis ) regenerating healthy skin and producing a better complexion
  • has a low downtime; any mild reddening usually disappears quickly.
  • is safe and effective for all shades of skin, from very pale to very dark.
  • in certain cases can improve the appearance of certain surgical, traumatic, burn and shallow acne scars
  • results are great for a simple, non-invasive procedure and are even comparable to laser resurfacing.
  • can be done on all body areas including the face, neck and decolletage
As the skin regenerates, results are seen 3 weeks onwards.
